Facade UI vs Origin UI
A Origin UI alternative for local business and real estate sites, or a companion to it. Facts about Origin UI were read on their site on October 31, 2026.
What Origin UI is
originui.com now redirects to coss.com/ui, which describes itself as "A new, modern UI component library built on top of Base UI" that is "Built for developers and AI". The repository heading reads "coss.com/ui (formerly Origin UI)" and calls it the official design system of Cal.com; the code is MIT licensed with about 10.8k stars. The site listed 56 components on the day of the check.
What it is good at
Application UI: inputs, selects, date pickers, tables, dialogs and navigation with careful accessibility on top of Base UI. Good for dashboards, settings pages and the logged in part of a product.

Who should use which.
Use Origin UI when
Use coss.com/ui, formerly Origin UI, for the application side: forms, pickers, data tables and the controls inside a product. It is free, MIT licensed and maintained by the Cal.com team.
Use Facade when
Use Facade for the marketing and conversion side of a local business or real estate site. Hours, booking, listings, calculators, service areas, heroes and footers are a different layer from application controls, and Facade adds motion and an MCP server for agent driven builds.
Use both
They rarely overlap. A brokerage can run Facade on the public pages and coss.com/ui in the agent portal. Note that the Origin UI name is being retired, so check which package you are installing.

Common questions
Is Origin UI still available?
The original repository origin-space/originui remains public under the MIT license as a legacy snapshot. Active development moved to coss.com/ui, which the README calls formerly Origin UI.
Does Facade include application components like inputs and tables?
Facade includes a few data pieces, such as the unit availability table and listing filters, but it is not an application UI kit. Use shadcn/ui or coss.com/ui for that layer.
Can I use Facade with Base UI?
Facade components do not depend on Base UI or Radix. They are self contained React components with motion and lucide-react, so they sit next to either.
