Facade UI vs HyperUI

A HyperUI alternative for local business and real estate sites, or a companion to it. Facts about HyperUI were read on their site on October 31, 2026.

What HyperUI is

HyperUI describes itself as "Free Open Source Tailwind CSS Components" and "a collection of free Tailwind CSS components that can be used in your next project", with Application, Marketing and Neobrutalism categories. It is released under the MIT license by Mark Mead and the repository shows about 12.3k stars.

What it is good at

Zero friction. Pick a component, copy the markup, paste it into any stack. No React, no build step, no license key. A good fit for static sites, server rendered templates and quick prototypes.

Who should use which.

Use HyperUI when

Use HyperUI when the project is not React, or when you want plain Tailwind markup you can paste into Astro, Laravel, Rails or a static HTML page. It is free, MIT licensed and has no dependencies at all.

Use Facade when

Use Facade when the site is a Next.js or React project and the sections need state and motion: live open status from weekly hours, a booking picker, filterable listings, a mortgage calculator, a quote funnel. Those cannot be pasted as markup; they are components with logic, installed by the shadcn CLI.

Use both

On a React project, HyperUI markup can fill simple static sections while Facade handles the stateful ones. Both are Tailwind, so spacing and colors line up once you map HyperUI's gray classes to your tokens.

Blocks that show the difference

Common questions

Does Facade have an HTML version like HyperUI?

No. Facade components are React with TypeScript. HyperUI is a better fit for non React stacks.

Is the free part of Facade also MIT licensed?

Yes. The free components and blocks are MIT licensed and can be used in commercial projects. Pro items carry a commercial license.

Which one is faster to start with?

HyperUI needs a copy and paste. Facade needs a project with shadcn initialized, then one command per component. After that, Facade components are editable source in your project too.

Try the free blocks first.

53 components and blocks, 33 of them free and MIT licensed. Pro is $149 once, for every client project.
